A Mansion Resort in the Heart of Rizal

image

A few weeks ago, me and my boyfriend had a week long 5th Anniversary celebration and we did what we always loved to do: Staycations. We decided to go out of town this time but not so far so we can have a lot of time to spare and this resort that I discovered is just perfect and exactly what we’re looking for.

Villa Jhoana Resort is a newly established resort in Angono, Rizal. It is a resort and a mansion at the same time which I totally loved!

It is around an hour or so away from Metro Manila. For commuters, there are airconditioned fx and van at the transportation terminal of Starmall Shaw. Fare is less than P50 and it will already take you to Angono, Rizal. You can ask the driver to drop you off at Inglesia ni Cristo Angono then from there take a tricycle and request to be taken to Villa Jhoana Resort for P10 per person.

image

image

Upon arriving at the resort and entering the gate, you will immediately feel like you’re in a different place. The mansion is huge and the surroundings is just very eye-candy.

image

During our stay, there are only a few staff around so we had a lot of privacy. The person in-charge who welcomed us was Liezl and she was very accommodating.

image

This mansion is just simply the house that everyone always wanted to have. We felt like we are living the dream in our dream house while in here. The interiors were very elegant and every inch of the mansion resort is very well taken care of. I particularly loved the two stairs that will greet you once you enter the doors of the mansion.

image

Villa Jhoana resort also serves as a venue for events and occasions and this function hall is just great for those special moments.

image

image

image

There are so many parts of the mansion where you can just relax and enjoy the place.

image

There are also tables and chairs inside ready when you’ll need them if you want to eat.

Food in the resort is limited to their menu and I don’t recommend it. We tried it for lunch and I think it’s pricey for the serving and the taste quality is just average. I hope they improve on this. No problem though because there are a lot of food establishments and stores around the area outside the resort where you can buy food and bring inside your room. You can just request for plates and utensils which the staff will gladly provide you with.

image

When we checked out our room, we were surprised on how huge and very spacious it was. We were booked in the Deluxe C room which costs only P1,800 per night. Let me show you around our room.

image

image

image

image

The queen-sized bed is very comfy, there’s a huge closet, mini ref and a cable plasma flat screen tv with a lot of channels to choose from.

image

image

It’s complete and exactly what you need in your bedroom. The comfort room is outside the bedroom and it is as huge as the bedroom. This is exactly how I want my bathroom to be!

The only thing is that the wifi connection’s reach is limited during our stay but the staff told me that their service provider will be working on it soon. The internet doesn’t reach our room that much but it was extremely fast especially in the lobby area.

image

image

Villa Jhoana Resort has seven air-conditioned rooms to accommodate their guests and here are the details and rates:

  • Honeymoon Suite A: Php 3,800

Now the most-awaited part and my favorite part of Villa Jhoana Resort, the lovely pool area.

image

image

image

The surroundings outside the resort just screams summer. There’s one huge pool and a jacuzzi with slides on each. Though I don’t think the slides are available during our stay and the jacuzzi isn’t turned on most of the time.

image

image

image

image

image

image

I didn’t mind soaking up under the heat of the sun with this view.

There are available cottages and tables and chairs near the pool at the back of the mansion for guests who avail of day tours only.

Great deals, right? I personally think Villa Jhoana Resort is perfect for special events or group celebrations because of the elegance of the place but still maintaining a very relaxed feel.

I loved our stay here, I definitely did experience living like I’m in my own mansion.

The room is very comfortable and once you step outside of the charming mansion, a totally different vibe awaits you and it’s a wonderful experience!

Oh, this amazing view. Villa Jhoana Resort is just very picture-worthy!

A Second Home in the City

I guess you know by now how I’m such a big fan of Staycations and how much I enjoy them, just the simple luxury of spending your day comfortably in a place that has everything you need. Where better to spend a great staycation other than the comfort of your own home but a place that can provide the same warmth plus more.

I’ve always wanted to search for a hotel in the heart of Manila where I can enjoy the day and relax with the amazing view of the Manila Bay on my window. After the long search, I found the Baywatch Tower.

Baywatch Tower is located at M.H Del Pilar St., Malate, Manila. It is very accessible and it’s just a 5-minute walk from Aristocrat. The unit we booked is owned by Mr. Oli. He owns two types of units at the Baywatch Tower (Studio type and 1 bedroom) and other units at Le Mirage. These units are available for short-term rentals like overnight or so and long term rentals as well.

Once we arrived, we were welcomed by Sharmaine who manages the rooms owned by Mr. Oli. So every time you need help or assistance, it would be best to call Sharmaine rather than the front desk. She is very accommodating and replies very promptly to inquiries and requests.

We stayed in a 1-bedroom unit at the Baywatch Tower and it was one of the most comfortable stay we ever had. Let me show you why, here’s what to expect in the 1 bedroom unit.

Looks very homey, right? Well, it is! The moment I entered the unit I immediately felt at home. I even thought that I can actually live in here forever.

Going Through the Grandparents’ Attic: What to Keep and What to Toss

When the sad business of going through a grandparent’s or parent’s attic comes across your plate, you will have many emotions. You’ll have the obvious sadness of needing to go through the boxes of a loved one’s past, but you’ll also have the joyous nostalgia of memories long gone, a way of peering into the past and time traveling. When you go through the boxes and boxes of things, you’ll need to be throwing away a lot. But maybe there are some things you come across that you should really keep. But if you start thinking that way, you’ll probably end up wanting to keep everything. So what should you keep and what should you toss?

You want to keep items that have true sentimental value to you, not to the person who used to own them. Old paperwork and souvenirs of trips long ago taken by your grandparent are neat and nice, but they don’t have any value to you. You can feel free to toss those types of things. However, photographs are important to keep. We are used to having so many photos now, since we have the ability to take unlimited digital stills on our phones; back then, each photo had to be carefully planned. Saving photos is always a good idea, although one move might be to digitize all the old photos for safe and long term keeping, then you can ditch the originals.

Be on the lookout for things that may have been stored in the attic simply because they stopped working, but they can be repaired and have actual value, either sentimental or actual real-life value. A lot of grandparents from back in the day had an appreciation for finer things like jewelry and nice watches. Particularly watches: the repair market wasn’t so prevalent, so a watch that broke would often be put away in a box. But the watches are built well, and a rolex usa service place like The Watch Buyers Group in Los Angeles can likely get that beautiful but forgotten watch back up and running for way less than the watch itself is actually worth. You don’t want to throw away things like that, for sure.

Clothing is probably the best candidate for being tossed. You can always donate it to a Goodwill, but if you’ve ever been in a Goodwill, you know most of the clothes are from other people’s grandparents’ attics. Old clothing has a musty smell, is out of fashion, and likely has moth holes and loose stitching. While you might think there are some gems in there – and there may be, so you can paw through it of course – clothing is heavy and hard to move around and has little value, so it’s probably a good idea to just toss all the old clothes. The hassle of going through it all is not likely to be worth it.

A Relaxing Trip at Los Arcos de Hermano

Last month, I am so busy with work and my schedule is so hectic that I rarely have time to relax and unwind even just for a day or even a few hours and I know most of you can relate. So whenever I get the chance to search for new relaxing places to visit, I always make sure it will be worth it plus within the budget.

So let me share to you what I’ve discovered, the amazing beauty that is Los Arcos de Hermano.

image

Los Arcos de Hermano Resort and Venues is a relaxing destination in Bulacan. The resort is nestled in the 4 hectares lot of lush greens located in the Paradise farms of San Jose del Monte Bulacan.

Going there was a breeze especially if coming from Metro Manila because it’s very near. It’s just a short 25-30 minute drive from SM Fairview. It is also very commute-friendly especially for group of friends, no need to rent a vehicle because you can just take the Tungko bus from SM Fairview then ask to be dropped of at Jollibee Tungko. From there, you can take a tricycle for only Php25 and say you’re going to Los Arcos.

image

Upon entering the resort, you will feel a sudden change in the atmosphere and you’ll know immediately that it will be a great experience. You will feel the warm ambiance of the resort and smell the fresh air from its green surroundings.

image

The resort is huge with 26 rooms for overnight accommodations and cabanas for day tours.

Sailing the high seas with the global lifestyle brand Sperry Top-Sider just got more stylish, as it ventures beyond its authentic original boat shoe with its line of watches in true Sperry fashion.

Sperry launched their Timepiece Collection in the Philippines just recently which is the first in Asia. Japan will be next in launching the collection late this year.

Sperry Top-Sider prides itself in being a modern, preppy brand for those with a “passion for the sea”, being founded by Paul Sperry in 1935 during one of his numerous adventures out at sea. Stay Stylish and Comfortable in the Rain with Crocs

Staying chic and fabulous during the rainy season can be a challenge, but not impossible to overcome. Dressing up doesn’t have to be a drag on dark days; in fact, with just a few tips and tricks, you can still strut your stuff and look marvelous even on the gloomiest days.

Brighten it up. Your outfits, by no means, should match the gloomy weather outside. Invest in pieces that perk up any dark day and you will instantly feel confident and fabulous. Wearing something bright also makes everyone around you perk up as well.

Keep a stylish umbrella with you always. Gone are the days when carrying around an umbrella felt like fashion suicide. Today, with so many cute designs to choose from, umbrellas can actually be a great complement to your outfit.

Layer it. It’s no secret that the weather can quickly change at this time of the year and layering your clothes make for maximum versatility. A stylish scarf can keep you warm and can even protect you from a sudden downpour. Wearing tights is also a good idea, especially if you’re wearing a dress, and can easily be removed if the weather gets too hot. Investing in a good coat that is both stylish and weather resistant is also a good idea; it’s best to avoid leather and suede when looking for a coat.

Invest in good footwear. Choose shoes that can withstand the rain: one that is durable and can be worn even during floods. Don’t let the rain dampen your shoe game and choose from the many designs by the world’s favorite comfort shoe brand, Crocs.

La Tentation de Nina: The New Fragrance by Nina Ricci

Is it a dream or reality? A fantasy or a desire?

image

Her name is Nina. She is young, beautiful and mysterious. She is on a quest: a journey towards herself, through a labyrinthine forest. Should she pass through the mirror? Or follow that snowy owl? Bite into this apple? Or else cross this frontier? There is a gleam in the distance. It is coming from a light in the window of a house, deep in the woods. She tightens her cape and quickens her stride. Something is drawing her there, but what can it be?

Here comes La Tentation de Nina.
