The Sweetest Summer Escape at Camayan Beach Resort
I know all of you my wonderful readers are now in full energy for summer, it’s our favorite season and I know summer is best spent in none other than our very own country, Philippines! Well, guess what? My blog is very much excited to share to you where to (and where not to, maybe) go and head this Summer 2013 and the coming summer seasons, too!
I know you don’t want to waste your hard-earned money and amazing summer clothes on false advertising and the like, so I’m so glad to be of help in recommending to you places you can visit this Summer and everything that you can expect from them tried and tested first-hand by yours truly.
Subic is one of the places people ought to go during Summer, not only is it near from the Metro but also it is the home to great beaches and amazing sceneries. I personally recommend this location for summer especially for the time savvy because for around 2 and a half hours from Manila (via commute) you can already arrive here (lesser time if you’ll drive your own car).
So where to go to when you’re in Subic? I have already tried beaches along the Subic Bay particularly Waterfront road and based on my experience, they were good but not that private so I don’t get to enjoy much since you share the beach with the whole line of hotels there so I’m so glad to have known this great beach and resort which is just a short drive from Subic Bay.
Let me introduce to you, Camayan Beach Resort.

And let me tell you now that it is by far the best experience Subic has given me.
Camayan is a lovely resort that houses the great beach and forestries of Subic. I personally think it has everything life can offer for your Summer needs. Not to mention that just beside it is the Ocean Adventure where you can spend the day and appreciate more the Ocean and its creatures with the shows and activities they have in store for you. I’m glad to have experienced everything they both has to offer so I can share it to you.
We checked-in at Camayan Beach Resort at around 2pm after our visit at Ocean Adventure, check-in was prompt even though there are a lot of guests to tend to.

Doors to the reception area

Upon entering the resort, I was just in awe of how magical it was. Yes, it was a paradise! With its beautiful garden and surroundings, clear waters and nice sand, you won’t even second guess.

Oh, I immediately knew that it was going to be one of my best summer experiences ever!

The moment I saw the beach and the people having the greatest time of their Summer, I just wanted to immediately hop on my swimsuit and just soak in the sun staring at the lovely view.
But first, let me take you to our room. We had a deluxe room and upon entering it I immediately thought that it was bigger than other deluxe rooms I’ve had before considering that for most resorts I’ve stayed before, they don’t prioritized the ambiance on their rooms much but Camayan’s room was a pleasant surprise for me because I was actually expecting less for a beach resort room.

Deluxe rooms have 2 queen sized beds which are very comfortable. The lighting on the room is good and very calm, just right for a very relaxing atmosphere. The ceiling is also high with an added ceiling fan to complete its look and feel.

The room has a satellite tv, it has no cable but I don’t think you will be staying here to watch tv so it’ll be fine.

Complete with mini-bar with snacks and drinks that are not overpriced, huge closet with hangers and an umbrella inside. There’s also a wide space where you can put your extra things.

The bathroom has complete toiletries you’ll be needing during your stay and the best part is that it has a bath tub! Exactly what I’m always looking for. Shower and faucet also has both hot and cold water that works very well.

And outside our room, is our very own veranda overlooking the amazing beauty of Camayan.

This room is already good for 4 persons so it’s really worth it. Camayan also has other type of rooms, the Superior rooms, Executive and Captains Suites. The suites has a separate bedroom with luxurious king-size bed, walk-in closet, bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, spacious living room, and kitchenette and also a balcony with the most amazing view of the ocean and gardens!
My only concern is that the air conditioned can’t keep the room cold that much maybe because of the summer heat but glad there’s an additional ceiling fan! Also, the water in the shower is not that strong maybe because the time I used it there’s also a lot of people taking baths. But the overall quality and comfort of the room is one of the best I had! I can enjoy summer at Camayan just by simply staying at the veranda.

So, the rooms are already perfect for a wonderful stay for your Summer vacation but wait until you read what resort activities Camayan can offer you.
Well, you can try out their Massage services, horseback riding, bike in the forest, kayak in the ocean, snorkeling, diving, beach volleyball and Bay Cruise to name a few. And as I’ve mentioned, Ocean Adventure is just beside the resort so you can visit anytime, especially that they offer 20% discount to all Camayan guests. You only have to pay one time with the discount then you can visit ocean Adventure anytime while you’re checked-in at Camayan. Now, tell me if your summer won’t be complete after!
First, let’s go to the beach!

This is the best me-time ever! Because my boyfriend is busy enjoying our room (haha!). I love Camayan’s beach, the water is so clear plus the sand is so soft I can sit in it everyday. And guess what? There’s wifi everywhere at Camayan, I’m actually instagramming on the beach!

(Instagram: @yfi_nika)
After I soaked under the sun and enjoyed the beach, I decided to try out some of their activities. Like the kayak and gladiator.

Artina Suites Hotel Review
Location: 2863 E. Zobel Street, corner J.P. Rizal Street, Poblacion, Makati City, 1210, Philippines
It’s always good to have a break from all the hustle and bustle of the Metro, and it’s never easy to find that perfect place where you can unwind and just relax for a night or so. One of the busiest cities in Manila is Makati but it’s one the places I’d rather go because of everything it can offer: Good malls, restaurants and best of all the loveliest hotels. And I know how hard it is to find a great hotel with quality amenities without having to hurt your savings that much especially in Makati, that’s why I’m so glad to have discovered this hotel that I instantly fell in love with and share it to you.
Yes, I’m talking about Artina Suites Hotel.

It is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Makati, with accommodations that will make you feel at home. It is unlike all the fancy hotels in the city with towering heights, it has a humble six floors that holds 40 rooms but can definitely pass all the rest.

The hotel is also very accessible to known landmarks like SM Makati, Glorietta, Greenbelt, Rockwell Center and MRT Stations making it very easy to go around the city, also perfect for commuters since jeepneys and cabs always pass by the front of the hotel.
Now, let me personally tell you about my stay in Artina Suites and share what I think.

The first thing you’ll notice upon entering the hotel is the very warm welcome from the staff which never ended until my checkout. The lobby is just small but has a very good feel and nice interiors with lovely abstract paintings.
Then, we were accompanied to our room right after the very smooth check out. The elevator was small and the hallways were ordinary but with bamboo panels and plants on every end made it more interesting.

We stayed in their Premiere Room which is really spacious with very modern interiors and style. It has a huge and comfortable bed, LCD tv and a good air conditioned unit.
Beside the bed area was a space for dining with a table and two chairs. It also has utensils and a mini bar in the refrigerator. One of the things I like about this hotel that I don’t normally see in others is that it has a ready to use microwave oven in every room plus water heater and a pitcher. So living here for long is really made easy, very convenient!

Another thing I love is the door beside the dining area which leads to the walk-in closet. Yes, it’s a walk-in closet and I love it! A huge space where I can keep my bag and the clothes I brought with me. The bathroom was also nice and clean, all modern and complete with toiletries. There’s no bath tub though but the hot and cold shower is working really well with the rain shower, too.

I really like our room, although we don’t have a big window and a view since it’s located in the back part of the hotel but the other rooms on the front part have big ones so take note especially if you like looking outside the city. You can always request. They also have free wifi access and daily newspapers which makes it more convenient.
Overall the room was really a big surprise considering its rate, definitely a nice place to relax while having all the things that five star hotels offer without spending too much! The room was big, complete with amenities, comfortable, very modern, clean and well-designed and most of all homey. I always love staying at hotels that makes me feel at home and Artina never failed me on that. It really gave me more of what I asked for.

The hotel is also surprisingly quiet unlike others in the area since Makati is very busy, transportations and cars pass by the front of the hotel every now and then so I’m glad I can get a peaceful time when in my room.
Their room rate also includes a set breakfast for two which was really delicious. You can have it every morning in their very inviting restaurant, the Artina Gallery Cafe.

It is located just beside the entrance of the hotel. It also serves gourmet Asian dishes and fusion cuisine. The cafe also exhibits several artworks from different artists every month to feed its customers’ eyes while they dine and this month’s featured artist is Ivan Acuna. So for those art lovers out there, this is a plus for you! The place is also a perfect venue for parties, events, etc.
Not only that because every Friday, Artina Gallery Cafe holds its Acoustic Nights and I’m so glad to get to experience this. Amazing dinner with feel good music serenading you, the best! Will tell you more about Artina Suites Acoustic Nights and what we had for dinner soon but I must tell you they are a must visit every Friday because of this!
Staying in Artina Suites Hotel was a very wonderful experience, I felt like it was my home all the time I was there and the staff are very courteous and made it a lovelier stay. I also have to congratulate and thank Artina Suites Hotel’s Manager, Jem Doma. She really have the hotel in her good hands.
The moment I checked out, I immediately planned when to book my next stay. Yes, it made me miss the vibe of the hotel that instant. It’s just so homey that I can live there forever! Speaking of that, they offer daily, weekly and monthly rates so check it out.
And if you’re planning a stay at Artina, here are their rates:
DE LUXE SUPERIOR - Php 2,700.00
PREMIERE ( 1 Matrimonial Bed) - Php 3,200.00
DE LUXE-A - Php 2,200.00
DE LUXE-B - Php 2,300.00
TRIPLE DE LUXE - Php 3,000.00
PREMIERE (2 Single Beds) - Php 3,200.00
Check out details and photos from each room here for more information.
Why Artina Suites Hotel? Personally, because I can say that they have everything you need in a wonderful stay in the busy Makati in a way cheaper price and the rooms are like new especially if you want everything clean and modern, this is definitely for you!
Book a room directly from Artina Suites Hotel here.

Cocoon Boutique Hotel Review
Location: 61 Sct Tobias cor Sct Rallos, Brgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City, Manila, Philippines 1103
Me and my boyfriend stayed at Cocoon Boutique Hotel last April. We wanted to have a break from all our activities since it was summer after all. So, I checked a good hotel in the city to just take a break and I found this new 4 star hotel ranked as #1 hotel in Quezon city by Tripadvisor and I knew that it was just perfect!

And I was right! The hotel just had a very good feel, from the lobby’s interior to the hallways to the room to everything! Cocoon boutique hotel was actually the first ever green hotel, meaning some of the interiors are from recycled materials like the wood on the wall where the lcd tv was. Everything was just so homey!

The room’s lighting may have a bit of getting used to since the lights are really dim. The room has complete facilities: comfy bed, fridge with fully stocked mini bar, and LAN connection for free.

My favorite was the bathroom. It’s really big with a separate tub and private shower. Also complete toiletries and clean towels.

This deluxe room is really very much worth it’s affordable price and it includes a set breakfast every morning at the rooftop where the pool area is also located. A lovely breakfast every morning :)

Didn’t get to take much photos since we really want to relax during our stay here and we did! We actually extended one more night, it’s really the best hotel you can stay at Quezon city. Everything was just so pleasant and comfortable.

Will definitely choose to stay here again. The Cocoon Boutique Hotel also offers affordable rates for events like Weddings, Debut, etc.
Visit their website here!
Check out their Facebook page here to see more of the hotel.

Have a good weekend ahead, lovelies!

Diamond Hotel Review
Location: Roxas Boulevard cor. Dr. J. Quintos Street, Malate, Manila, Philippines
This was my second stay at a hotel near Manila Bay, first one was at Hotel H2O.
Diamond Hotel is a five star hotel situated along Manila Bay. With almost 2 decades in standing, I was pretty impressed it maintained it’s luxuriousness to think that it had more than 400 rooms to take care of.
I stayed here overnight primarily because of my invite to watch Lady Gaga’s Concert at MOA Arena, and it would be such a hassle to travel back home after since I know I would be very tired by then. Also, to unwind even for a little while :)

The hotel has very good security from parking to entrance. It has a huge lobby, check-in was also smooth.

The motif of this hotel is very elegant, I can really feel its being 5 star.

Upon entering the room, i was surprised because it was huge. Being to many hotels, I know what to expect already when I book a deluxe room but seeing this deluxe room at Diamond Hotel it’s like a Junior suite compared to other hotels I’ve been to.

As expected on a five star hotel, the room has complete amenities. Desk, LCD Tv, Fully stocked mini bar and fridge. The room has complimentary two bottles of water, two bottles of juice and Oreo biscuits!

And of course, welcome fruits! :)

Another thing I love about hotels is the view from our window. Lovely Manila Bay from our room at the 15th floor.

I would really stay at this hotel again. Bed was big and so comfortable. Closet was also huge with bathrobes, iron board, lots of hangers, etc.

The bathroom was also very spacious with bath tub and complete toiletries and towels. Some signs of ageing on the sink but all is well.

I think the best part of this hotel are the facilities they offer, and just look at how inviting their pool area is. Too bad I just got to look at it from our room since I’m so busy during our stay here.

But that’s fine because I’ll definitely go back. And I absolutely recommend this hotel if you wish to stay at Manila since it’s near some famous landmarks in the Philippines and the location is very accessible.
Until next time!

Lancaster Hotel Cebu Review
Location: Matumbo Road, Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island, Mactan - Airport Area, Cebu, Philippines
It was our last day at Cebu and we checked out at Costabella Trobical Beach Resort at 12 noon and our flight back to Manila was yet at midnight. So, I immediately searched for a cheap but good hotel to stay in for a few hours since we’ll also do our Pasalubong shopping today at Tabo-an market.
And I found this condotel online which have good reviews considering its rates. The hotel was actually hard to locate since the name Lancaster Hotel is nowhere to be found, but it’s location is very near Marina Mall and also to the airport.
The lobby is really inviting, check-in was okay. There are residents here since it’s a condominium-type-hotel. They have two large pools.

The hallway was worn out with signs of ageing, but I think that’s because they are still renovating the place at the time of our visit. Elevator was small and really creepy.

But upon going inside the room, we were satisfied since it really has complete amenities. Everything you need to live everyday is here. haha! Living room area, with one cable tv with a table which you can turn if you’re watching on the bed or sofa. The room also has a kitchen area with everything you need in a kitchen, including a stove and gas tank.

The bed was not that soft though but still comfortable enough. The bathroom has separate bath tub, but without toiletries.

We just took a rest for a few hours then off to Tabo-an market to shop for our Pasalubong! A cab to the market costs around Php 200- 250.00. When we came back we smelled like Danggit (dried fish). haha!

Good thing about this hotel is that they accept airport transients and the shuttle service to the airport is for free 24/7!
We had a blast on our week-long getaway to Cebu! We will definitely be back!

Crown Regency Hotels and Towers and Sky Adventure Review
Location: Fuente Towers, Fuente Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City, 6000

(beautiful lights of the hotel at night)
After 4 nights in Cebu, we thought where to head next and what to do. And we’ve heard of this famous Crown Regency Hotels and Towers which is the tallest building in Cebu and also has a lot of fun activities to offer. So, we decided to stay for a night here. I guess the best thing about this hotel is its location, right at Osmena blvd which is close to everything in the city.

Check in was fast since we already have a reservation, but there are a lot of people in the lobby maybe because of the hotel’s day tours since it’s really famous for their Sky Experience Adventure, one of the main attractions in Cebu. The room was okay, nothing special. It looked old and a bit smelly but was comfortable enough.

The room’s amenities are complete. The bathroom has a bath tub and complete toiletries were provided.

The amazing view of our room from the 33rd floor. I can almost see the whole of amazing Cebu!

The downside of this hotel is their poor staff service, requests must be followed up many times. Maybe because they have a lot to tend to and it’s a really big hotel, and we have to pay a non-refundable Php 50.00 each for utensils we borrowed.

The hotel has a really good feel and has a lot more to offer.

It has many restaurants and other facilities. They have two pool areas one on the 17th floor and the other on the 9th floor but unfortunately, during our stay one of the pool area is not available. So we checked out the other one and it was really nice!

There is a lap pool, one pool with jacuzzi, a massage pool, and also jacuzzi tub! :) We really had fun!

Our reservation included a dinner buffet at Sparkz Restobar at the 37th floor. There are many to choose from from their buffet, drinks are not included.

A few hours after dinner, we decided to try their amazing activities. The fun activities of this hotel includes the Edge Coaster, Sky Walk Extreme, 4D Theater, Sky Observatory, Cliff Hanger and the first City Zip line.

We chose to try the Edge Coaster since I’m really a sucker for heights and this hotel is just so high.

This is the rail that the edge coaster will pass, this goes around the whole hotel. And you can see the amazing night lights from the view below. It was very thrilling! Pictures were taken by their official photographer during your ride since cameras are not allowed. We have a photo souvenir during this ride and I’m searching for it as of now. haha!

We went to the Sky Observatory after which is on the 38th floor, you have to insert a coin to use these ‘telescopes’. The view was just so magnificent!
An overnight stay in this hotel is really not enough. There are a lot of fun things to do. We’ll try the other activities on our next visit!

Visit their Official Website now!
Check the rates and schedules of the activities here.

Harolds Hotel Cebu Review
Location: 146 Gorordo Avenue, Corner Rosal Street, Lahug, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines 6000
Harolds Hotel is a four star hotel located in Lahug, Cebu city which have been a favorite business hotel because of its location which is right in the heart of the city of Cebu and also its affordability.
We chose this hotel primarily because of course its location and also since we stayed at Shangri-La for 3 days which is costly, we chose a cheaper hotel. Its very easy to find and upon entering, the lobby is really elegant and very inviting.

The staff are very accommodating. We had an early check-in since we arrived there at 12nn and they allowed us without any problems, they didn’t even ask for an incidental deposit which most hotel ask since we always pay for our booking online.
Our room is located on the 5th floor and we stayed here for 2 nights.

The lobby is a bit boring, few amenities since it’s a business hotel and not that of a leisure hotel. The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but that’s okay because while here we planned to visit Magellan’s Cross and other tourist attractions.
The view on our room is still nice, though the room we booked has no veranda but the others have. There are lots of restaurants near the hotel and a bank right across which makes it very convenient.

The room is good, actually great for the price. For less than Php3000, we got a room which is very comfortable with nice interiors and complete amenities. Wifi is on public areas only but complimentary internet access through LAN connection is available in the room.

The room has complete toiletries and has a bath tub. The mini bar is full stocked with complimentary water in cool bottles :)

Our reservation has free buffet breakfast, food was just fine nothing special and a little to choose from.
Overall, our stay was really great! We were able to go to many places in the city because of the hotel’s location, jeepneys and cabs always pass by the front of the hotel.
Check out some of the outfits I wore during our stay here!

New World Hotel Makati Review
Formerly known as New World Renaissance Hotel
Location: Esperanza Street corner Makati Avenue, Makati, Manila, Philippines 1228
New World Hotel is a five star hotel in the heart of Makati City. Great Location since it’s just beside Greenbelt so everything in Ayala is within reach. The hotel lobby is really big and you can feel it’s elegance.
We booked an executive club deluxe room, the rooms are located at the 22nd-24th floor. We chose the executive club because of this privileges while you stay on the hotel: We can have a free access to the Executive Club Lounge serving daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails which we can enjoy for free and also the use of Business Center for 2 hours per stay.
The room is just okay, though I’m expecting more since it’s a 5-star hotel. We have bananas in the room as welcome fruits.
The room is complete, everything you need during your stay is there. Complete toiletries and stocked mini bar.
Bathroom is good, it has a bath tub with separate shower.
The view from our room is lovely since we are on the 22nd floor. With city and pool view, the pool is a must try in the hotel, also perfect during summer with the busy city life in Makati.
Buffet breakfast at M2M (Morning to Midnight) is also delicious, many choices. Look at my plate! Yummy Filipino breakfast :)
Here is a glimpse of the Club Executive Lounge at the 24th floor. Yes, you can stay here anytime, eat and grab some drinks during your stay when you book a Executive Club Deluxe room.
This hotel is very comfortable and you were treated the best by the staff. The privileges are just amazing and made our stay so worth it.
I would love to stay in this hotel again in Ayala because of it’s location and also, it’s a bit cheaper than other 5-star hotels in the area with the same benefits or more. Time and money well spent.
Costabella Tropical Beach Resort Cebu Hotel Review
Location: Buyong, Mactan Island, Maribago, Cebu, Philippines
Costabella Tropical Beach Resort is a four star resort located in Mactan Island, in line with other resorts in the amazing white sand beach of Maribago. You can reach it by riding a taxi around less than 200 php, easy to locate since there are signs on the road.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night during our week-long Cebu escapade. I’ll also post some of my reviews on Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Harolds Hotel, Lancaster Hotel and Crown Regency Hotels and Towers and also more of our experiences there. This is the last beach we visited in Mactan island on our last day and I can say it made our trip more worth it!
We booked a Premier Deluxe room and it was really good. I recommend not to book standard rooms since I’ve read reviews that they are really old and far from the beach. There were some problems in our room but they were handled promptly. One thing we liked the most was the service of the staff, very professional and accommodating.
The room has two double beds, colored tv, desk, and veranda with a lovely view. The bathroom has a tub and toiletries.
View below from our room on the 3rd floor.
The beach was small but it was nice, just don’t mind the people on the other side of the breakwater trying to sell you stuff. The white sand was just beautiful.
If you want to go island hopping or cruise, just contact front desk and they will assist you. Pools were very nice, and the ambiance of the resort was just so peaceful.
You can stay and just relax anywhere in the resort, every inch is just a paradise.
Food was delicious, we had a room service during dinner and we were so full after. We tried their friend chicken, filipino beef steak and pork sinigang, Their iced tea is a must try, the best iced tea we’ve tried ever!
Breakfast buffet was okay, little to choose from but it was fine.
Total, it was a very nice stay here. We felt relaxed and the view from our room with all the trees was so serene. I consider Costabella Tropical Beach Resort a small paradise in Mactan. Would go back to this resort again and I definitely recommend it when you visit Cebu especially if you’re on a budget, it’s cheap for what you get and totally worth the money!

Hotel H2O Review
Location: Luneta (Behind Quirino Grand Stand), Manila Bay, Manila, Philippines
My boyfriend and I heard of this amazing hotel with aquarium walls with fishes swimming every now and then and that really captured our interest so we booked to stay there at our 2nd anniversary.
It’s Hotel H2O! Hotel H2O is the first aquarium - themed integrated resort hotel in the Philippines. A four star hotel located in Manila Ocean Park. Easy to locate since it’s really inside MOP, one of the famous tourist attractions in Metro Manila.
We checked in there at a Sunday. At first, we were given a room that wasn’t yet cleaned we went back to the lobby and they immediately changed our room. Their aqua room was small but it was perfect, our wall is an aquarium full of lovely fish which complimented all.
The bed is very comfortable and big and the bathroom on the aqua room has a shower with complete toiletries (everything you need actually), no bath tub though. Rooms also LCD tv and a free wifi access which was really fast.
We really enjoyed our stay there, we can visit Ocean Park anytime and the staff were really very accomodating. We requested to have the food we brought reheat and they gladly did all our requests. I just love looking at the fishes on our wall everytime :)
Our reservation included a buffet breakfast and it was sumptuous! The breakfast was at Makan Makan and it was really superb, many choices from different countries’ cuisine. One of the best buffet breakfast I had!
You can also have breakfast outside the restaurant where there is a great view of the Manila Bay. Some of the rooms in this hotel don’t have aquariums, thus having bay view (Manila Bay) or park view (Luneta Park).
We would love to go back to this hotel. Very relaxing, should try other types of room. But I guess still nothing beats the nice feeling and uniqueness of the Aqua room.
It’s really a plus that it’s in Manila Ocean Park, while here you can grab the chance to visit Oceanarium since it’s just an elevator away. Also try the Mega 4D rider at the first floor of Ocean Park. Sight seeing at Luneta park is also a must and Mall of Asia is just a taxi ride away.
Visit Hotel H2O Facebook page for Updates
(Sorry for the hotel slippers, just cause they’re so comfy. haha!)
Richmonde Hotel Ortigas Review
Location: 21 San Miguel Avenue Ortigas Center, Ortigas-Pasig, Manila, Philippines 1600
Richmonde Hotel Ortigas is a four star hotel located in the business district of Ortigas, Metro Manila. We booked here for an overnight stay to relax and since we also have a plan to go to Greenhills the other morning. We had a reservation for a junior suite which is nice and a bit bigger room than the deluxe ones. The room has a queen-sized bed, LCD tv, fridge with mini bar, a separate sofa chair, desk and two other chairs near the tv. The ambiance of the room is nice and calming.
The bathroom has a tub and toiletries, just the usual and nothing fancy.
The view from our 15th floor suite.
What I liked most is the location of this hotel since there’s always a cab passing in front of the hotel, making easy access to near landmarks like metrowalk, greenhills, SM, etc.
The hotel has a heated indoor pool just beside it’s gym, the water was so relaxing since it’s warm.
We really enjoyed it especially if you’re booking this hotel for a business trip, you can always take a dip after a stressful day.
The buffet breakfast included in the room reservation is also good with a lot of choices. The chocolate cake was heaven!
We wish to have stayed longer, lovely place, affordable and very convenient. I also wish my boyfriend took a good picture of me. haha!

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa Review
Location: Punta Engano Road | P.O. Box 86 , Punta Engano, Cebu, Philippines 6015Part II: Second Day At Shangri-La Mactan (Read Part I here.)
During our last day of stay at Shangri-La, we made sure to see the amazing beach of this resort. We had our breakfast first at Tides, the breakfast was sumptuous as ever.
Then, we walked to the beach. Every inch of this resort is heaven. You can just stay at the chairs everywhere and relax and just enjoy the amazing view, so many trees that’s why it has a so calm environment. Can’t help but to take lots and lots of pictures during our stay.
Then.. Taadaaaa! The Beach!
The beach was so stunning, it was so perfect. The soft white sand and the clear water was so inviting, plus there are a few people in the beach which makes it better to relax and enjoy everything. This is really the loveliest beach I’ve ever been to.
The beach is big and has lots of beach chairs where you can sun bathe, some have covers if you don’t want to get too much sand. The view was just breath-taking!
It has also some romantic places and a small football-type park where your children can play while you enjoy the view. Glad a security guard came to us and offered to take our picture here:
Didn’t miss the chance to get mine, too :)
You can do lots of activities in this resort. There are many perks of booking a room in the ocean Wing, like free water activities, etc.
But the best thing is dipping in the pools and enjoying the sun in the beach.
Will definitely go back here, then it was check-out time. Our next 3 days in Cebu is in the city. Bye, bye Mactan for a while!
Overall, our stay was just so perfect! Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa is really a paradise, you can’t say anything negative about this place. You feel royalty while here. It was worth every single money you paid for and even get more of what you expect. It was just a bit expensive since it’s really the best so a lot of tourists just try day tours/night tours in the resort which is still worth it for around Php3500 you can stay at the resort for the whole day with a free lunch buffet/dinner buffet at Tides. You can contact Shangri-La’s Mactan through their website.
With all the other beach resorts in Mactan, I’ll still choose to stay here. A paradise in Cebu, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa.
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa Review
Location: Punta Engano Road | P.O. Box 86 , Punta Engano, Cebu, Philippines 6015
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa is an amazing five star resort at the island of Mactan. I think this is the best beach resort in Mactan, I actually think it’s the best in Cebu! We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights, first beach we went to on our week-long Cebu trip. We arrived in the evening since our flight is 5:00 pm from Manila. Going there is easy since there is an hourly shuttle waiting for you at Mactan International Airport, they also have a Customer Service office at the airport. It was just a short 20-minute drive and then, Hello Shangri-La!
Part I: First Day At Shangri-La Mactan
We booked a Deluxe Sea View room which is in the Ocean Wing building of the resort.
The Bathroom was fully equipped with a tub and also a tv speaker in case you want to hear what’s in the TV while you’re in the shower. Lots of toiletries for everything you need for hygiene purposes.
The room has a veranda which has a spectacular view of the resort, with the beach and pools. Also has a fully stocked mini bar.
And the delicious ripe mango as a welcome fruit.
The staff was very accommodating, we were treated very special, every request was happily done. In room dining was excellent! The chef was the one who served us and they brought us a lovely table. We tried their Chicken Adobo and Beef Steak Pinoy. The food was amazing, just a bit expensive than normal prices but worth it.
Their pools are open until 9pm, so we decided to take a dip.
Our reservation included Buffet Breakfast at Tides, a lot of choices of different cuisines like Japanes, Korean, American, etc.. I love that there’s danggit!
Many people are eating at Tides most of the time, also because the resort have a day tour available for walk-in guests.
After eating, we strolled around the resort for a while. Such a lovely place!
We decided to go out and do other things at Mactan and also buy some groceries which you can bring inside the resort. We rented a car from the resort for a very reasonable price since the shuttle had already left and the next one will yet be for the next hour.
This is what I wore today, who says you can’t do Florals over Florals? Well, I wanted to feel the summer more that;s why :)
Enjoyed our first day at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa! Lots of things to do at this resort. Read more about my review on our 2nd day with pictures of the beach here.
Astoria Plaza Service Apartments Hotel Review
Location: 15 J. Escriva Drive, Ortigas Business District Pasig City, Ortigas-Pasig, Manila, Philippines
This is a 3-star hotel located in Ortigas Center, not that easy location like other hotels in the area but it’s okay since there’s a ministop beside it. I stayed here for overnight for my birthday and it’s a wonderful stay, it’s just like home!
We booked a one bedroom suite and we got upgraded to a two bedroom without any additional fees, very accommodating staff.
The rooms are very spacious and there are two LCD tv’s, one in the big living room and the other on one of the rooms. The suite also have a dining room.
The bathroom is nice and the kitchen is just perfect! It has everything, from plates, utensils, stove, oven, etc.
So if you’ll book a hotel in the busy Ortigas, I would recommend this and feel like your at home. It has 35 stories of 292 rooms, there’s actually a brown room, green room, blue room and the suites.
And the city lights at night and the lovely view from our room in the 19th floor is beautiful. Too bad we weren’t able to taste their food in our free buffet breakfast because we slept until our check-out time. Also, dip in the pool!
A very wonderful experience.
